I am a 4th year Biology Education student, the first time I heard about this program was when my senior joined this program and I started to be interested but I did not imagine that I would be one of those who joined this program. But I kept telling myself that I MUST join this program no matter what the obstacles.
What is the SEA-Teacher Project? Okay, let me explain.
According to SEAMEO's official website, SEA Teacher, also known as the Pre-Service Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia, is dedicated to fostering the teaching experience of prospective educators from various universities in Southeast Asia. Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) has a vision to improve the quality of education in Southeast Asia to strengthen the capacity of teachers and ensure the birth of brighter future educators.
Who can participate in the exchange?
I will quote from what SEAMEO said, that "We encourage 4th-year students majoring in math, science, English, and pre-school education to take part in this enriching journey. The exchange program spans one month and follows a cost-sharing basis mechanism, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to benefit from this transformative experience.
During the one-month period, participating students will take on different roles and responsibilities each week. They will have the chance to observe, assist in teaching, conduct their own lessons, and reflect on their progress. Throughout the entire practicum, our host universities will provide dedicated mentors, offering guidance and support to ensure a fruitful and rewarding experience for each student.
At the SEA Teacher Project, we believe that cross-cultural exchange and international exposure play a vital role in shaping the educators of tomorrow. Join us on this exciting adventure as we strive to empower and inspire future teachers to become catalysts for positive change in the field of education across Southeast Asia. Together, let's build a brighter and more interconnected future for education in our region."
It’s exciting, right?!
